Funny story of the week!

In a previous post, I posted a picture of my 2 newest Stitch plushies. I actually own a few others, but have wondered for quite some time where my first Stitch plushie had gone off too. I remembered he was a Christmas Stitch, but I hadn't seen him in quite a while.

A few days ago my mom gave me a call to tell me she had found my Christmas Stitch in the basement! I really couldn't fathom WHY I would put him in the basement, considering my best friend of 15 years gave me this Stitch, and he was my first one.

So I ran right over there to get him, and I was surprised to see that he had a cute little jacket and hat (I only remembered him having a scarf). I even talked to my best friend about Stitch, and she mentioned that she was quite sure she bought him for me.

I get Stitch home and go to put him on display for Christmas. I decided I should cut the tags off. Turns out the tag that is on his ear is actualy one of those Christmas "To, From" tags.

Turns out, it was FROM MY EX-BOYFRIEND!
Thats why it was in the basement XD.
My friend and I figured out that she had bought me a Christmas teddy bear with a scarf and hat! (If anyone else asks, SHE gave me Stitch!)
I am getting super excited for Christmas! My shopping is almost done (if you don't include my fiancees birthday that is on the 16th). Anyone else excited?

Do you know a girl with hair like this?

The wig is practically done! When I put it on though, I realised that something was definately wrong with the bangs, and I think its that they are too thin and flat, but it's ok I have more hair to fix that! I tried to make it look messy like Ramonas in the movie, but not as ratty.

(I apologize for no makeup an such, I couldnt even find a nice lipstick to put on :S I guess thats one drawback to living on my own now, I dont have my mom and sister to 'borrow' makeup from!)

Anyway I thought a lot about which costume to do for Ramona. I knew I wanted to do the pink hair from the movie, just because I think it is recognizable and because I liked it. The costume I will be wearing with this wig is this one;

I chose it because I wanted to represent the comic as well as the movie. (She wears a slight variation of this outfit in the movie as well, except with blue hair)

So far I already have the jacket that I am adding the stripes too, and the Tshirt that I need to add the logo too. I'm sewing the skirt from scratch.

Thats enough cosplay stuff for today, I've got Assassins Creed Brotherhood to play! and a giant mess to clean up. I really don't think I am capable of doing anything cosplay related without leaving a gigantic mess behind XD.

Why is this taking so long?!

...Probobly because I attempted to wash excess pink sharpie ink out of this wig about 6 times and it still gets pink all over everything.
Well anyways, Ramona wig progress!
I still need to fix up a few more things and make it more wavy but I think its coming along (slowly!). Hopefully Ill get a nice picture of me actually wearing it tomorrow.

On another note, I saw these in the Disney store and just couldn't resist. I had never seen a plush Angel before and my inner child took over. I already have little Christmas hats for them, that way when someone asks why I have these things in my living room, I can claim they're Christmas decorations, and are therefore completely necessary! Thats what I will keep telling myself anyways :P

Renovations!

Today I have decided I need to reorganize my little corner of the internet (this place)! I want it to be easier to read, so please bear with me!

Ramona Wig

So after it dried, I went at the wig with a sharpie manually. The color is much better (although the wig is brighter IRL) I think I will still need to go through the whole sharpie dying process again to get the tone im aiming for. ..hmm we shall see...

Then all I'll need to do is curl it, add extension to it, and cut it. Oh and sew the costume. Procrastination FTW!

This isn't working...

Another attempt at dying the Ramona wig has been met with limited success. I'm happy that the pink is alot brighter (It doesnt show up well in the after photograph, it was taken in  crappy basement lighting), but it still needs more purple. Fortunately I have a magenta sharpie leftover that I hope to use remedy this once the wig dries.

On another note, it's Halloween! In honor of this I dug out this old newspaper clipping from this time last year, during the Swine Flu scare:

ahahaha....I wish I was Batman.

Early Halloween!

Last night myself and a few co-workers went trick-or-treating for UNICEF. It was a good opportunity to give the costume a test run, and raise some money for a good cause too!
Unfortunately people were pretty grumpy, but we still had a good time.

Anywhooo, heres a test-run of my (kinda last minute) costume. My original idea was zombie bride, and when I saw this dress in a thrift store I just couldn't resist. The wig is a short wig (from an old Toph cosplay), with $4 worth of curly extensions from the dollar store!

I have never really done undead makeup before, I usually hate the stuff, but I decided I would give it a shot. On actual halloween I will probably go for a more gruesome look, but this time around I had limited time to get ready, and had to work at night shift after this, so I really wanted to be able to wash it off!

On another note, I'm planning on having a Ramona Flowers cosplay done for Nov 9th *the day the Scott Pilgrim DVD is released). I am doing the costume from the cover of volume 2 (she wears this in the movie too!) , but with the more recognizable hairstyle from the movie.
This is my base wig. I already unsuccessfully sharpie-died it once, but the color was too similar to the wigs current color, and so it didn't really have an effect. This time around I'm going for a deeper magenta, and then adding the black chunks in the back and bangs.

Ahoy!

Just what I always wanted. My own little blog!
I will hug him and pet him and squeeze him and I will name him George.
George will essentialy be a cosplay/craft journal, but I'm sure he will also provide a place for me to write about all the random things I do whilst I procrastinate cosplaying/crafting.
